Reciprocity

Coronado Yacht Club welcomes visiting yachtsmen from around the world.

We are pleased to have you aboard as a guest, and, as your hosts we will do all we can to assure that you have a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Realizing that each yacht club operates under different conditions, and each has evolved its own set of rules, we have published the following information and rules for your guidance.

Registered visiting yachts of other yacht clubs shall be extended privileges in keeping with those extended to our members.

This criterion is per correspondence with that Club. However, the Club reserves the right to restrict or deny this privilege at any time. For more mooring information, please click here for our Docks/Marina page.

Are you planning on visiting us soon and have some questions? Contact us and someone from our Front Office will reach you within 48 hours.

  • Upon Arrival: For Reciprocal Members
      • A courtesy call to the Club office is encouraged before arriving by vessel.
      • All yachts visiting CYC must identify themselves by flying their yacht club burgee.
      • Reciprocal yachtsmen may only visit during open Club Office and Bar hours, unless they have a slip in the CYC marina approved by the Port Captain and Dockmaster.
      • Whether you are arriving by vessel or vehicle during normal working hours, you should check in at the Club office and present your yacht club membership card. If the Club office is closed, the check-in should be done at the bar.
      • If coming by vehicle, please park in our public parking lot which is located at a frontage street to the south of the yacht club. Street parking is also available.
      • When mooring your vessel at an appointed CYC slip, a registration card will be filed and the office will issue you a key that gives you access to the main gate, side gate, heads/showers, and the laundry room. We do require a $75.00 deposit which will be refunded when the key is returned to the office.
      • If you are required to leave your boat for over 24 hours, please notify the Front Office.
      • All visiting yachtsmen must carry with them their yacht club membership cards at all times when they are on Coronado Yacht Club property. Guests of visiting yacht club members must be accompanied by their hosts at all times while on CYC property. Please be cautious with your personal property. Do not leave items out in plain view, unattended. The Club is patrolled by a security guard every evening. If you face any issues while you are staying with CYC, please do not hesitate to call our security guard after hours at (619) 933-1011.

*Reciprocal members or any non-member may not purchase a CYC burgee. You may exchange it with your home yacht club burgee if we do not already have it on our walls.

For mooring, please contact the Front Office to make a reservation request. These requests are not guaranteed due to our limited slip availability.

  • Reciprocity for CYC Members
    • If you would like reciprocal rights at certain yacht clubs, the Front Office can draft up a letter of introduction/reciprocity for you. We will send it straight to the receiving Club and also give you the original for your own records. Please inform the CYC office employee of when you are planning to arrive at the said yacht club, how long you will be there and who you will be going with. Contact the Front Office for more details.
